Yesterday we went to a fun concert by Carsten and Iris Lenz at the Evangelische Emmaus-Gemeinde in Mainz. This was all about four-handed organ playing. Also, snow!
The concert went on for about an hour and included four-handed organ pieces from the 17th century up to today – mostly non-serious stuff including ragtime, fun variations on Beethoven's Freude Schöner Götterfunken, and, as an encore, a zippy piece for four feet. As an additional benefit, the organists had set up a number of cameras so we could watch them play live on a big projection screen at the front of the church.
