No Dancing Today

It's still the Christmas holidays in the state of Hesse, so the Frankfurt SCD club continues its winter break (and we don't mind not having to go to Frankfurt today). But of course it's not as if there's nothing going on, SCD-wise!

Saturday week is our annual FSCDC “Tea Dance”, and this time it is dedicated to dances by and for the late Malcolm Brown. I've put a selection of dances together for the occasion – as usual the final programme will be made up on the spot, depending on numbers and on how the people get on with the material. But I'm looking forward to it already!

I also need to get a handle on the Easter course, where for a change I won't be playing piano but teaching (with 2/3 of the Bluebell Trio, from Japan, providing the music). This of course is a huge challenge and I want everything to be just right. I have a list of dances already but I need to make up proper lesson plans in order to give them to the musicians in time for them to prepare.

Plus of course there's our own Spring Ball in early April, and I need to get the music for that together and send it to Christine so she can practice. Also a week-by-week teaching schedule for the FSCDC e.V. that ensures that we can practice all the dances in a reasonable order, and ideally with Marie and Jan included so they can practice teaching.

So it's not as if I'm just sitting around with nothing to do! Having a Tuesday night off every so often is not a problem as far as I'm concerned.
