The Amazing Spider-Man

Watched The Amazing Spider-Man on Netflix yesterday while casually hacking away on the server move at my desk (living room was occupied by the resident Germany's Next Topmodel fan).

Hadn't realised before that the movie was directed by Marc Webb, which does make a certain amount of sense.

Also hadn't recognised Martin Sheen as Uncle Ben for a while. In any case, better than the Sam Raimi/Tobey Maguire incarnation. I'm not a huge fan of superhero movies in general but the most recent Spider-Men were good for light background streaming entertainment.

(Full disclosure: I did see Spider-Man: Homecoming in the Edinburgh 3D IMAX cinema when it came out, but that was more out of a sense of not having much of anything else to do and curiosity about how a feature film like that would look in 3D IMAX. I stayed basically down the road from the theatre so that was the most obvious evening entertainment available. Anyway, I think that movie worked pretty well as a weird superhero/high-school drama crossover, with a big dash of self-parody. Probably my favourite Spider-Man movie so far.)
