Today is NOT the date of the traditional Burns supper at the Johannes Gutenberg University here in Mainz. It was originally scheduled to take place today but then the organisers figured out that the date was uncomfortably close to the end-of-semester exams and that they would find it difficult to attract student volunteers to help put on the event. Too bad. Perhaps next year?

At least the weather was reasonably good and I managed to put in an 80-minute 7-kilometre Nordic walking round instead. Gotta do more of that.
