Another “team week” day – this one was full of meetings to a point where slotting in some productive work was a bit of a challenge. But to be fair, some of the meetings were quite productive! And we went to dinner in a nice restaurant/bar in Darmstadt later, so that was OK, too.

This of course meant that there wasn't a lot of time for other things. Marie and I did manage to take the decorations off the Christmas tree – the city of Mainz will collect the trees on Saturday, and we won't have time tomorrow to do it. Theoretically the tree is supposed to stay up until January 6th, but as the collection usually happens on the next Saturday after that date, and sometimes (like this year) even later, we like to leave the tree as long as possible. After all it did take some effort to set it up, so why not enjoy it? Fortunately this year's tree, even though it was so tall that it just barely fitted under the ceiling, stayed reasonably fresh so our living room floor isn't covered with needles.
