New Feature Roundup

This week saw the addition of various small new features to the dance database. Here's a quick roundup.

  • We already mentioned sorting dance lists and the auto-updating short links database.
  • The “Albums” tab on the details page for persons/groups used to list only those albums where the person/group in question was the sole artist for the album, or a member of a group who was the sole artist for the album. This overlooked albums by “Various Artists” where the person/group only contributed one or more tracks. This has now been changed; the “Albums” tab shows all the albums with recordings by the person/group, no matter who the artist associated with the album itself is. [Suggested by Doug Macdonald.]
  • Publications now have a “Cribs” tab which contains cribs for all the dances in the publication (as far as we have any). Publications have had a “Diagrams” tab for the longest time and why they didn't have a “Cribs” tab, too, is unclear to me looking back. [Suggested by Wanda van Taanom.]
  • When editing a dance list, it is now possible to add the dances corresponding to the tracks on an album. This will add either just the “named” dances based on the names of the tracks, or all the dances linked to each track in the database. As with publications, it is possible to add the resulting new list items either to the proper dance list or else to the scratch area. It is also possible to automatically associate each recording with the resulting list item. [Suggested by Bruce Herbold.]

I also fixed a number of small bugs that showed up in Glitchtip.
