Prelim class

This is our RSCDS examination class in April 1997, photographed at the Kuckucksnest in Schlüchtern during our week-long preparation session. Coming from various parts of Germany, the Netherlands, Denmark and even Scotland, we were thirteen candidates for the Preliminary Test and two for the Teacher's Certificate -- it was a tough time for all of us but in spite of the work we had lots of fun, terrific dancing and friendship.

The course was tutored by Ms. Frans Ligtmans from Eindhoven, the Netherlands, with George McLennan from Edinburgh, Scotland, playing the piano, and took place on March 8-9, March 22-23 and April 4-10, 1997; the examination -- the first of its kind in Germany -- was held in Essen on April 12-13, 1997, and our examiners were Jean Yeats and George Lawson.
